On paper, I had it all.
A chemical engineer with a postgraduate diploma in HR, a PMP certification and two decades in the corporate world. A husband I had chosen. A little daughter. A successful career. All the things I was told would make me happy: properties, cars, international holidays.
And yet, behind closed doors, I often found myself crying.
I felt lost. I felt bitter. And, hardest of all, I had begun to dislike myself.
I married in 2011, and for the first few years, we navigated life together like most couples do. But by 2017, that bitterness had crept into our marriage too, and I struggled to feel happy and understood.
I had become an expert at proving my husband wrong.
And I kept waiting for him to change. The longer I waited, the more disappointed I felt.
There is an old story about a dog lying on a nail. It whimpers and groans, but does not move.
Why?
Because it does not hurt enough yet.
I was that dog.
I could feel the pain. But my life was not falling apart. Somehow, it was still moving. Every time things got bad, we would patch them up, just enough to keep going. And I carried on working, running the household, achieving, showing up.
The nail was hurting. But not enough for me to get up. So I stayed on it for five more years.
Until April 2022, when the pain finally became unbearable and I began looking within. And I realised:
I was so busy diagnosing him that I forgot to examine myself.
My entire focus had always been on what others were doing or not doing. The more I focused on them, the more exhausted I became, because I was trying to fix the outside while ignoring the inside.
Then I heard something that challenged me deeply:
Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.
I did not want to believe it. But I could not unsee it.
So I got to work.
That began my journey inward: questioning the beliefs, conditioning, fears and expectations I had carried for years.
- Who am I if I am not constantly achieving?
- What do I actually want?
- Am I doing this because I choose it, or because I was conditioned to?
- Where am I saying yes when my soul is saying no?
- Can I trust myself enough to listen?
As I looked honestly at myself, I began to see what I had been avoiding:
- My mountain-sized ego
- My own flaws
- The family patterns I had been quietly loyal to
Without realising it, I had been bringing what I grew up watching into my own marriage, because it was the only way I knew.
So I had to unlearn a lot of what I had learnt, and start learning what actually works from teachers and experts. As my thinking shifted, the way I spoke to my husband shifted too. And slowly, without me trying to change him, the energy of our marriage changed.
Layer by layer, I came back to myself. And underneath it all, I found something beautiful:
I was not broken.
I had simply become very good at hearing everyone else’s voice, and very quiet at hearing my own.
And as I began to listen, the joy came back. The chirpy girl I used to be had never really left. She had just been waiting to be heard.
For four years, I did this deep inner work alongside my corporate career, training in and practising mindset coaching, NLP and various healing modalities, and guiding others along the same path. By April 2026, the gap between the life I was living and the life that kept calling me had grown too wide. I felt a pull I could no longer resist: to share with the world the work that had transformed my life.
So in May 2026, I left my corporate career to do exactly that.
Today, I guide people across more than 10 countries to do what I had to learn to do: stop, turn inward and listen.
And that is why Chirpy Souls exists.
Not to fix you. Not to tell you who to become. Not to make you dependent on anyone else for your answers.
But to give you the space to slow down, turn inward and gently look at the beliefs and patterns keeping you on your own nail, so you can finally hear yourself again.
Welcome to Chirpy Souls. 🤍
